Now that is a pretty bold statement isn’t it? How can a blog change your life? Well, it most likely can’t as you will still have to do the work yourself. (But it could be the cold medicine talking too *koff*). These are my 7 Must follow blogs that will change your blogging life forever. Why do I say this? Because they have changed the way I blog and it has helped me greatly!
Oh.. and of special note – none of these are in any special order. To me they have all helped me out immensely and I wouldn’t be as far along as I am currently without them. Plus they don’t keep giving the same canned advice you see written on a million other blogs. Or if they do… it is given in a new twist at the very least.
1. Kikolani.com – Kristi Hines
Although this is her personal website http://www.kikolani.com. If you have been blogging for any time at all you have probably read a LOT or her articles. I ran across her site for her great Thesis Tutorials" href="http://kikolani.com/wordpress-thesis-theme-customization-options.html" target="_blank">Thesis articles. Thanks to her I was able to easily learn a TON about Thesis as I was trying to learn it. And if you haven’t noticed – I have the same navigation bar concept as her site.
2. Traffic Generation Cafe – Ana Hoffman
Personally I like sites that are blatant about what they do. Ana Hoffman’s http://www.trafficgenerationcafe.com does just that. She tells you up front I MAKE MONEY FROM YOUR VISIT – BUY STUFF. Now don’t get me wrong – she isn’t like a lot of sites out there trying to sell you the miracle to making money online. She gives an honest review of the products she is affiliated with. Plus she gives great advice on how to get traffic to your own site!
What I like best? She offers proof by releasing a report on how her site is performing!
3. Sugar Rae - Rae Hoffman-Dolan
If you haven’t visited http://www.sugarrae.com yet? You’re missing out. She is definitely is the queen of the “no bullshit” approach to how she does things online. She tells it to you straight on what works and what doesn’t.
But what makes her a total badass? She was foolish enough to offer her email subscribers to audit their website. So I took the bait thinking I was going to get some sales spin to buy some crap I don’t want. But she replied back and pretty much ripped my site apart. But it was in a good and helpful way! I was able to fix some things, add some others, and tweak it here and there.
4. Its All a Matter of Perspective – Holly Jahangiri
Holly has one of those blogs that are just a pleasure to go to http://jahangiri.us/new/. It seems to reflect her personality perfectly. Which is hard for something on the web to do! I happened to actually stumble across her site one day even before I found her on BlogEngage! I find her writing and stories to be fun to read. She has a very easy writing style and tends to put a lot of story telling into each article – which keeps you drawn in. So I try not to visit too often – otherwise I wouldn’t be getting anything else done!
But not only that – she is very helpful! She pointed out that I hadn’t submitted my article for the Blog Engage Guest Blog Contest so people could vote! *DOH!* So, thanks Holly! And not only that she happened to mention my Guest Post article on her blog!
5. Wong Chendong aka The Bad Blogger
Wong has a few things going for him. Sarcastic Wit and Semi Nude Women. OK, seriously he has a lot more going on than that. I even wrote about his site awhile ago. And I still read all of his stuff. Wong shares his unique insights on Blogging and making money online in a straight forward no BS approach that follows the “blogging formula” to a ‘T’.
The Bad Blogger seems to be doing it all right. A great blog design. Successful in one of the hardest niche’s to write for, and a twist with adding semi nude women in his articles.
6. The Hobby Blogger – Bryan Kerr
Here is one of those blogs where he is doing everything right from the start. He has a great design, awesome content, and he is taking it slow. Whereas I did everything wrong… rushed into everything, monetized too soon, and did everything half-assed lol. Seriously though, Bryan has some great articles related to those just starting out blogging. And the best part it isn’t filled with ads or popups. Just great genuine content.
Finally he has social buttons and a sign-up form for his newsletter! So please go and visit The Hobby Blogger and tell him avgjoegeek sent you! You won’t regret it!
7. KissMetrics Blog – Neil Patel
If you haven’t seen this guy on the internet or read anything he has written? Then you are probably not blogging, online marketing, or even ON the net! Neil Patel seems to write pure gold with every post he puts out. If you are doing research articles and plan on blogging about them? You need to read how this guy does it first.
But he writes just about everything. This guy writes just about everything related to being online. Just an example article that I like alot: 5 Powerful WordPress Plugins To Increase Sharing Of Your Articles is just a small sample of the type of articles he writes. So make sure to check him out at http://blog.kissmetrics.com.
Honorable Mentions
Of course after you finish writing an article – I always seem to forget something. There are a few more sites out there that have directly impacted me and deserve to be mentioned as well:
Grow With Stacy – Stacy is one of the very first sites that I ever commented on. And she was hosting a Rafflecopter giveaway for the next site I’m mentioning! She has an awesome resource page also for blogging tips that I suggest you check out.
Blog Engage – Brian is probably one of the hardest working guys on the net. He seems to always be online. On Twitter, Facebook, Guest Blogging, helping other bloggers out. I was so impressed that I paid for the RSS Subscription so my articles automatically post to Blog Engage (You can see the ad in the lower right corner of this site btw *hint hint*)
But he also hosts Guest Blog contests! You can read more about that here though
