Today’s Call of Duty Black Ops 2 updates is a little early this week. Why? Well the new DLC Revolution Map Pack is available thats why! Take a look inside at what you’ll get, how to download and install it, and the other usual updates, news etc that I usually provide 🙂
DLC Content – Revolution
This weeks Call of Duty Black Ops 2 updates is bringing you the release of it’s Treyarch’s first DLC Content Pack – Revolution. With this you get a new Co-Op Zombie Map “Die Rise”, a new Zombie Game Mode “Turned”, of course 4 new Multi Player Maps “Hydro”, “Downhill”, “Grind”, and “Mirage”, and a new weapon called the “Peacekeeper”.
I was able to play around with a few of the new maps. I’m actually pretty surprised – they are all pretty decent maps so far. Of course YOU will need to play them and decide for yourself if you like them or not.
I got to play this map this morning. I can tell you that it was fun – and the extra danger of getting flushed down the proverbial toilet made it all that much more interesting! In this map your in a large hydro electric dam set in Pakistan. You’ll have to watch out for when the dam suddenly releases its flood gates. Anyone caught in them will be swept away in the sudden rush of water!
This takes place in a Ski Resort somewhere in the French Alps. This is another interactive map where the Ski Lift can provide moving cover – or if hit by one sudden death! This appears to have different points where players will want to try and hold for strategic advantage and keep the snipers off your back!
After playing this map this morning – I can tell you that although it is more like controlled chaos. It is nothing like the other snow maps Treyarch has created in the past. The pace is fast and it has both tight corridors and long site for both the rusher and sniper alike.
Taking place inside a Skate Park at Venice Beach, CA. You won’t have any tight corners here. This map is all about curves due to the skate ramps, half pipes, and full pipes the map showed. I imagine this map will be a rusher’s dream and you’ll have to stay on your toes in order to stay alive!
Unfortunately work and responsibility got in the way of me being able to jump in this map. I’ll give you my opinions later after I had a chance to play it.
This map takes place in China’s Gobi Desert. It is a Luxury Resort Hotel that was caught up in a huge sand storm. This map is nothing like Oasis. The play style feels completely different than other maps.
This new co-op map takes place in a falling down high rise. With M.C. Escher-ish parts to the level to try and throw you into vertigo. You also have to watch out for empty elevator shafts and sudden drops as you work your way around the map!
This is sort of like the “Infected” game mode from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. You start out as a zombie and you have to ‘infect’ the lone human on the map. Once you do you become the human and your job is then to destroy all of the zombies to earn points. It looks interesting to say the least.
For the first time in DLC/Call of Duty history they are introducing a new weapon into the game. The Peacekeeper is technically an SMG but it is supposedly a hybrid of SMG/Assault Rifle that we will like very much?
I used it for a little bit. It is a decent gun. I don’t think it is OP though. Sure in the right hands this gun could be devastating, but you can say that with any gun in the game. I personally have over 5000 kills with Akimbo B23-R’s. I don’t see too many players deviating from their gun of choice to change to using this one.
