With Call of Duty MW3 wrapping up it is time to start getting ready for Call of Duty Black Ops II soon to be released this November. If you are a serious hard core gamer and have the cash then you might want to forego the usual pre-order and take a look at the Hardened or Care Package editions. Read on to find out what you get and where to order them!
Call of Duty Black Ops II
This is the highly anticipated sequel to the original Black Ops put out by Treyarch. Set in the not to distant future it will feature the latest and greatest in today’s guns and combat technology.
So to celebrate this Treyarch / Activision is offering players some crazy collector editions of the game - Hardened and Care Package. You can go to the Call of Duty website HERE and pre-order online or from your local GameStop to be able to pick it up at the midnight release!
Standard Edition – $59.99
Of course this one you only get the game disk and standard insert with the usual junk.
Make sure to Pre-Order for Nuketown 2025!
If you were a fan of Nuketown in Black Ops – then this might be the kicker to get you to pre-order it. Of course this is NOT the Zombie edition. If you want that you’ll have to step up to the next level – Hardened.
And get the Nuketown 2025 downloadable bonus map. Relive the close quarters chaos of this classic fan-favorite map, reimagined in a visionary depiction of the “Model Home of the Future.”
Hardened Edition – $79.99
Or spring for another $20.00 bucks? This edition ups the ante a bit by offering you the following extras:
- Exclusive Camo and Player Card Backgrounds
- Limited Edition Challenge Coins
- Exclusive MP/Zombie Dynamic Themes
- Black Ops II Soundtrack
- Collectible Steel Book
- Nuketown Standard & Zombie DLC Maps
Care Package Edition – $179.99
Or you could get the HOLY CRAP THAT’S EXPENSIVE Edition by spending another $120.00 more they decided to throw everything at you. (Except a free year of ELITE Premium)
Of course you’ll get everything that is in the Hardened Edition:
- Exclusive Camo and Player Card Backgrounds
- Limited Edition Challenge Coins
- Exclusive MP/Zombie Dynamic Themes
- Black Ops II Soundtrack
- Collectible Steel Book
- Nuketown Standard & Zombie DLC Maps
Plus You’ll get:
- The silly Crate Package box.
- A Remote Control MD27 Dragonfire Quad Rotor
So I don’t know about you – but I don’t need an ugly orange box and a remote control helicopter that is most likely going to break as soon as I put batteries in it lol.
What is Missing Then?
Well how about no free ELITE Premium memberships in ANY of the packages being offered? Not even a free month. Bastages. And of course you’ll want to get ELITE Premium if you want to join in any Clan Ops, or get the maps a month( ish **) early to get the jump on your competition.
For that I cry Shenanigans as they seem to be trying to bleed the series and our wallets dry just to play this game online.

It’s My Birthday!
But.. it is going to be my birthday this Monday! (Sep 3rd) So um.. if someone is feeling generous – feel free to pre-order this for me as a gift!
OK – Enough of That…
Seriously though – which edition are you planning on getting? Or are you planning on getting the game at all? From what I’ve seen online with the Multiplayer and the Campaign (but mysteriously little on Zombies) it looks like I’m going to be continuing my COD career for another year at least.
