I know what your thinking. The game just came out! How can you hate it already? Well, I don’t really hate the entire game. Just some aspects of it that Infinity Ward has been guilty of doing since Modern Warfare 2. Take a look inside for the 6 reasons why Call of Duty Ghosts Sucks.
I’ve been playing Call of Duty since almost the beginning. I’ve been a loyal fan/player of the game for a long time now. But it seems to me that with each iteration of the series Infinity Ward is making things worse instead of better. Take a moment to read the reasons and leave a comment if you think I’m right or wrong about it.
1. Its Already Been Hacked
Infinity Ward and Activision said they were starting from scratch. Re-developing Call of Duty like never had before from the ground up. Then why do I feel like they did a huge “cut and paste” of the code?
Because the game was already hacked a week before it came out.
Don’t believe me? Do a search a on YouTube and you’ll see examples of hacked lobbies where 1 or 2 kills will get your character to max prestige or earning squad points for doing just about anything. Or take a look at the world stats… if those numbers don’t look right? Its because the game has been hacked.
How to Fix It?
Well the only way WE can help fix it is to report EVERY player and hammer them with data. I know this doesn’t fix it. It will just show the scope of the problem. And to tell you the truth? I don’t think they will be able to. Infinity Ward can reset the stats and block players all day long. But its like playing a game of “Whack-a-Mole” with a million holes. As soon as they ban one player or stop one hack another 100 pop up.
The only way to really fix it? Actually I don’t know if there is a way to at this point. This is something were gonna be stuck with.
2. Stacking Kill Streaks
Ever join a lobby where you were tossed into a match where there were 9 million different killstreaks in the air and you just end up getting spawn killed over and over until you leave the lobby? This is what I’m talking about.
Although this has been going on for awhile now. I really hate how killstreaks end up stacking – especially in Infinity Ward games. If a player is good enough they can continuously cycle through their killstreaks without ever having to pull the trigger again.
So get ready for the corner campers to get their kill streaks up high enough to where they can just hole up and reign terror until the lobby splits. It takes away from the game and makes it an unenjoyable experience for everyone. Well except the jackass who’s giggling in the corner of course.
How to Fix It?
Easy. Once they cycle through their killstreaks. They have a choice. Either keep on going by having to shoot other players to earn that K.E.M. or die to reset the cycle for Assault streaks. This will force players to have to PLAY THE GAME instead of having them mash the D-Pad over and over again.
3. The Game is Unbalanced
Before it was launched I was thinking “Oh this can’t be good” when I watched their new Create a Class system. Although I love the Create a Class system its been screwed up for a long time. It seems like Infinity Ward decided to just throw any type of game balancing out of the window when they decided to borrow Treyarch’s pick 10 system. Players have already figured out the “OP (Over Powered)” class to run. So if you started late or are just a casual player who doesn’t really care about their setups. Your going to get torn apart.
The issue is with so many different weapon choices, perks, and kill streaks there are too many ways for the game to become unbalanced. Plus with the near infinite number of perks you can setup along with the right type of weapon? You now have it to where those starting out late are getting mowed down by the ‘die hard’ players who have already ranked up.

How to Fix It?
Unfortunately I don’t think there is a way to fix it in Ghosts. Since you get an allotted amount of points you can spend any way you want to? Unless they re-structure it so you are only allowed so many points from each type of perk. Even then it would take months of hard core testing to try and ferret out most of the bugs to get it to work right. Then someone would still figure out a way to game the system.
4. Bullshit Deaths
You know what I’m talking about here. Before it was things like Dead Mans Hand or Last Stand. Sure they might have removed those from the game. Now we get…
Maniac and Juggernaut
Now we get Maniac and Juggernaut. Nothing like someone in battle armor who can run around faster than everyone in the game knifing everyone. Or with the return of Juggernaut you have to have your entire team rain death on him until he drops. These types of kill streaks don’t reward the team only the player who receives it.
Riley the Guard Mutt
OK, Sure I love how much time you spent on the detail on Riely. But having him as a killstreak is pointless. Half the time he isn’t going after other players he just sits around growling. And he only seems to work on me like I have a big ass T-Bone wrapped around my neck with a big sign that says “EAT ME”.
Lose the Noob Tube Already!
Why do you keep this as an option in the game? We already have Grenades and I.E.D.’s to watch out for. Do we really need the ability to chunk a tube grenade from across the map to be able to kill someone?
How to Fix It?
Remove this type of crap from the game entirely. The game was originally a SHOOTER you know.. by shooting people with guns. I’d rather spend time working on an objective and actually see the other player so I can shoot them rather than have some dog shoved up my ass from behind me or a Maniac be able to run at me while I dump a clip into his face and stab me to death.
5. The Maps Suck
I know this is more of a personal preference. But it seems like Call of Duty tried taking one too many nods from Battlefield and and applied them to Ghosts. Sure I love the details they put into the maps. I love how they are even more challenging than the 1-3 routes and the choke point designs of the past.
Whats wrong with the maps? The maps are HUGE. Since they don’t even have the ability to allow more than 6 players per team. I feel like that person in a bad horror flick where you want to yell at the screen “WATCH OUT YOU MORON!” just in time to get taken out by a sniper who’s been sitting there for most of the match just to out camp me. Now not all maps are like this – but the ones that are? They don’t work.
How to Fix It?
Our only hope is that they listen to the community and when they release the DLC they will be right sized for the amount of players allowed.
6. They Removed Game Modes I Play
I understand they are trying to keep things fresh. I do. And they are stuck with deadlines and the like. I get that. What I don’t get is why remove game modes that even the eSports guys want to play? The ones I’m talking about are
Search and Destroy, Headquarters, and Demolition.
Note: They already brought back S&D
Why remove game modes that have been pretty consistent with the series? To me this is a case of If it ain’t broke – don’t fix it. Please Infinity Ward – put the game modes back in already!
I won’t even get into Ground War. As much as I did like it.. it appears that the network just can’t handle it. Bah.
What Do You Think?
Maybe I had unreasonable expectations for the game. They touted during their multi player reveal that they were changing things up. In the end we are stuck with the same old mess. Am I wrong? Tell me in the comments below of what you think about Ghosts!
