Activision and Infinity keep rocking out new content for Call of Duty MW3 with a new map Overwatch. The map is currently available (now) to Xbox Live / Call of Duty ELITE Premium players originally released on Feb 21st. Of course due to the ongoing Exclusivity Contract with Microsoft, PSN users have to wait yet once again. Being that I am a PSN player and still haven’t been able to play even the first two new maps until February 28th I am a little bitter (OK, Pissed Off). But business is business and being a good COD Junkie I will wait impatiently, bitch and whine about it then play the crap out of them when they are released. But enough of my whining – I break out all of the details below:
Call of Duty MW3 New Map Overwatch
This map seems to give homage to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2’s Highrise map – don’t let the similar setting fool you. With even tighter corners and narrow routes you know it’s going to be a slaughter house trying to get to an objective. I’m sure this will be a Sniper’s paradise with nooks and crannies with great site lines to pick off those who like to Run N’ Gun with an SMG. Check out a sneak peak below:
MW3 New Map: Overwatch drops you into a construction site atop a New York City skyscraper. The battle takes place along two levels in a near symmetrical layout, with the central bridge and side routes open to attack from multiple angles. Watch your every step, as a lack of safety barriers surrounding the perimeter leaves nothing between you and a 70 story fall to the ground below.
When will PSN Users Get Some?
Well, Since I FINALLY updated to Call of Duty ELITE Premium? I snapped a screen from the video that gives a small blurb stating… “Sometime in March” I love it when they give us a definitive time when it will be released. </sarcasm>
UPDATE: Overwatch will be available for ELITE Premium Users ONLY on March 29th!
Anyways – Check out the hilarious trailer below on all of the details. While Xbox players have probably already played the living crap out of it – Us PSN players will sit and gnaw on our controllers in anticipation.
Leave a comment below on how the map plays, and what you think of the Activision/Microsoft Exclusivity Contract. Personally I think it’s crap but I still like PSN more than Xbox Live! so I will continue to take the hit and suck it up like a man.
You can sometimes see me on PSN: avgjoegeek – I’ll be the guy shouting into the mic while my kid is trying to sleep 🙂
