Redeploying with an arsenal of content unlike any in franchise history, Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 3′s first downloadable “Collection” arrives stockpiled with not only four Multiplayer/Survival Mode Maps, but two Special Ops Missions – the first time Call of Duty® has ever made Special Ops downloadable online. Armed with just this one content pack, players can choose between heading to a militarized Central Park in “Liberation,” destroying scenic vistas in a seaside Italian getaway in “Piazza,” raining glass on New York passersby from 70-stories-up in “Overwatch,” and battling beside a downed Air Force One in “Black Box.” As if that breadth of multiplayer variety wasn’t enough, fans of Special Ops can hop aboard snowmobiles to infiltrate a diamond mine in “Black Ice” or head to India, where “Negotiator” will leave the fate of hostages in their hands. In a class of its own with half-a-dozen forms of content, Modern Warfare® 3′s first downloadable “Collection” offers a range of combat and co-op the likes of which has never been seen before.

Piazza

This seaside Italian getaway is anything but idyllic, as tight corners and branching pathways pose great risk at every turn. Close-range combat dominates, and the team that best utilizes flanking routes will most often come out on top. Attacks from behind, above and below are an ever-constant threat. Keep up your awareness and don’t get taken by surprise.
Liberation
MW3 MP Map Liberation
A militarized Central Park stretches across a vast landscape, ripe for long-range sniper and LMG fire. Mounted turrets on either end lend power to anyone brave enough to expose themselves in exchange for deadly firepower. Plan out your movement and always be aware of nearby sightlines to avoid becoming fodder for the enemy.
Overwatch
Shots break out on a construction site atop a New York City skyscraper. Battle takes place along two levels in a near symmetrical layout, with the central bridge and side routes open to attack from multiple angles. Watch your every step, as a lack of boundaries surrounding the perimeter leaves nothing to prevent you from falling far to the ground below.
Black Box

Battle beside a downed Air Force One in “Black Box.” Multi-level homes overlook the neighboring streets, creating a deadly kill zone for players on the ground. With clear sight lines from house to house, however, snipers are far from safe, with counter-sniping an ever-present threat to their dominance. Those that prefer close-quarters combat can succeed in the tight confines of the crashed airplane or in hunting down enemies posted up within any of the surrounding homes.

Black Ice

Shred ice from aboard your snowmobile as you infiltrate a diamond mine in the Special Ops mission, “Black Ice.” Melt more than snow when you plant high-grade explosives to shut the mine down forever. This marks the first time Special Ops has been made downloadable online in franchise history.
Negotiator
MW3 Spec Ops Negotiator
Cash in all your karma as you head to India for high-stakes hostage extraction in “Negotiator,” an all-new Special Ops mission in which you’ll breach-and-clear rooms and navigate surface streets to secure the safety of your VIPs. This marks the first time Special Ops has been made downloadable online in franchise history.
When Can I Get It?
Xbox Users
The DLC Collection 1 will be available for Xbox on 3/20/2012.
PS3 Users
My estimated guess for PS3 users? On or about 4/24/2012 This is NOT CONFIRMED and I will make sure to update this post when I get a definite timeline on this. I’m basing my guess on the following: It will be 30 days after the initial release, and that is a Tuesday which is when the first 2 maps dropped.
Update: Available on PS3 this Wed 4/18/2012! … Today? 4/19/2012? Bah!
To purchase this map pack you can go to the Call of Duty MW3 website – and you will be prompted to update to the ELITE Premium service (lol). My guess (sheesh alot of guessing here today – sorry) is that it will be available in the Xbox Live! Market and in the PSN Store when it is released. ;-p

OK, I’m A Little Confused
I’m just a player just like you. But with the dates being so cramped and being an ELITE Premium member – how will all of this work? As I paid for the ability to get content sooner than the masses and Activision/Infinity Ward releasing this on 3/20/2012 for Xbox Live! players – uh, what is the real benefit here?
I had to download each map separately. And with each new map or Spec-Op released I will have to do the same. With the release of Collection 1 – will the rest of the rabble have to do the same? Or will they get a nice neat package that will be instantly thrown into the map rotation? This is where Activision/Infinity Ward has dropped the ball. Here I paid to get content ahead of time only to have to go to a special lobby just to play it.
Now, my guess is that the people purchasing the MW3 Collection 1 will have to do the same thing us ELITE Premium members did – download each map separately. But – I don’t think they will run into the same issues as some players posted stating errors of missing maps or missing files.
