With Call of Duty MW3 getting pretty stale for a lot of players and Call of Duty Black Ops II starting to wrap up it isn’t surprising to see the last of the Content Calendar for MW3 quickly approaching. It isn’t all a loss (or is it?) though. IW is still working on screwing up the game (i.e. gun buffs), PS3 is going to be getting most of Collection 3 this week, and Collection 4 is announced. Read all the latest Call of Duty MW3 Updates for PS3 details inside!
Activision/Infinity Ward Hotfix
This is probably the silliest patch update I’ve heard for a COD game so late in the “season”. They are changing the status of certain SMG/Assault Rifiles. Why? I have no F’ing clue. But it should have been implemented by now. Read below for the patch notes on what they decided to FUBAR this time.
Xbox 360 & PS3 have received weapon rebalance in Call of Duty: MW3 for assault rifles & SMG’s:
- FAD – increased damage and range
- M16A4 – increased damage and fire rate
- AK47 – reduced kick
- UMP45 – increased damage
- MP5 – increased fire rate
- PM9 – reduced kick
Hmm.. I’ll have to give the M16 a shot again. I really miss this gun from Black Ops 🙁
PS3 New Content Arrives 8/16/2012
In August PS3 will finally be getting the MW2 map Terminal. But along with that little tidbit we will also be getting the following (ELITE Premium Members First!):
Two Multiplayer Maps
A graveyard of rotting ocean liners has not only given birth to a shantytown of locals, but a mid-sized Multiplayer Map populated in chokepoints; providing the perfect setting for shoreline-based combat.
Trapped on an oil rig in the middle of the ocean, you have nowhere to go but directly at your enemies in this new Multiplayer map boasting helipads, cranes, and countless perches for snipers eager to pick off the competition. Did we mention to look down or else you may fall off?
Spec Ops Map
The luxurious “Oasis” hotel in Dubai hosts the latest Special Ops mission, in which players must use laser-guided RPG’s to dispatch waves of helicopters. Utilize rooftop advantage to defend from waves of enemies, before parachuting to a ground-level exfil point.
What PS3 Will Need to Wait Until Fall For
New Game Mode: Chaos
Available August 7 for Xbox, PS3 players will have to wait until around my birthday (hint?) in early September to get this pushed to us. Xbox players will be able to get Collection 3 on August 9th. But the new game mode might have me finally check out some more Spec Ops as it sounds fun taking out waves of enemies!
“A whole new way to play Call of Duty®, Special Ops Chaos mode delivers the ultimate in arcade mayhem. Experience truly heart-pounding and adrenaline-fueled action while competing for high scores in Resistance, Village, Underground and Dome. Chain kills together against a never-ending onslaught of enemies to increase your combo multiplier and earn performance enhancing perks. Choose your route through each map to optimize weapon pickups, attack, and escape options. Play solo, split screen or online with a friend to take out as many enemies as possible before they take you down or the clock hits zero.”
Well PS3 players will have to wait until OCTOBER to even get this? I’ll do a separate write up on this and link back to it when I have it done. I mean – its not like I don’t have TIME at this point?
And what makes all of this so Peachy? Um, nothing really. I guess it will be near the end of MW3’s lifecycle and players will happily be moving on to Black Ops II. But if you think the waiting for PS3 owners is over by then? It won’t as Activision decided to take more of Microsoft’s money and re-upped the Exclusivity Contract at this years E32012!
Can you tell I’m getting pretty done with Call of Duty MW3? Maybe its time to find a new shooter (lol, yea right).
So until the next time folks – Keep On Fragging! – I’m out.
