This is my Part II of How to Play Call of Duty like a boss. With Black Ops II released people are wondering what is the fastest way to level up. What load out should I use. Or just plain old how do I setup the game so I can play well. You’ve come to the right place as I’ll show you all of this! So sit back and enjoy How to Play Call of Duty Black Ops II Like a Boss
Play Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Like a Boss
With Black Ops II they have completely re-written how to play the game. No more can you count on A Setup that will beat B Setup in C Gametype and you’ve won. With the invention of the “Pick 10” Create-a-Class system that makes that scenario highly unlikely for now. Also two other major things have happened with multi-player. First – Host Connection and Lag are going to play a huge part in if your able to be successful. And the other is that the Guns in the game? Behave like no other before. So follow these tips and you will start coming out on top!
Call of Duty ELITE
This is now a free service so I would highly suggest signing up for it. Why? You will get inside tips, tricks and info from within ELITE. Also you will be able to research the maps in the game to help you know which way to go once your in the game!
First thing you will need to do before you get into the game is make sure your controller is setup correctly. They have made it very simple to adjust your controller to fit your needs. For me all I need to do are two things to help me out.
Adjust Your Sensitivity
For the controller not my attitude dood! With Black Ops II you can adjust it all the way up to 14! It will start out at 4. I suggest playing around with the Sensitivity until you are comfortable with where it is at. Just tweak it up two or three settings and bump it back down (or up) depending on how well you are playing.
Setup the Drop Shot!
I always switch my controller to Tactical. Why? Well I first started out being tired of “Air Knifing” opponents because when someone jumped out near me I’d panic. So I was tired of that. Now on those times when I do panic I drop to the floor and end up winning more gun battles! Although this tactic is frowned upon by some in the COD Community? I still use it.
A QUALITY Headset
I know I’ve originally stated just get a headset. After spending about $300.00 on different ones and now I have my Wireless PS3 Stereo Headset? I’m praying to the COD Fairies to send me a pair of Astro A50s! Seriously though if you are serious about any type of FPS, a headset is a MUST in order to be able to do well. Especially in Call of Duty Black Ops II.
One of the largest advantages you can have over your opponents online? A great connection. Of course this is going to cost you. But if you are still on a low grade DSL or even worse Dialup? All of the tips in the world aren’t going to help you. Sure Treyarch implements “Lag Compensation” but .. they can only do so much. So maybe its time to bump up your internet connection!

A Quality Screen
I know your playing on your 27″ screen and your beasting it. Thats great! My personal recommendation is at least getting a 32″ screen to play on. It isn’t so large you have to physically move your head around to see the entire screen, and it is affordable enough that you might even be able to get an LED set instead of the older LCD technology. And yes, what you see on the screen and how clear and bright it is matters!
What Setup Should You Use?
This is the tricky part. It really comes down to player preference. The gun I have the most fun with? The M8A1 which is a 4 round burst fire weapon. Although I personally have a lot of fun using the gun? I wouldn’t recommend it for those trying to improve their game play.
The two guns that I think are the best in the game are the M27 Assault Rifle and the MSMC for the Sub Machine gun. Why these two? Well they seem to be the most well balanced in the game when it comes down to fire rate, damage, and range. The problem is that you don’t get them right away. For starting out until you level up enough to earn them? Then I would go with the PDW-57.
For a Secondary Weapon? The only one that I personally love using? That is the B23R a 3-Round Pistol that is just very much OP in close combat situations!
For me this time around it’s all about the C-4. But a well placed Frag Grenade still does a lot of damage. So I would start out with the Frag and then work your way around trying out different things until you find what works for you. But nothing is more satisfying then tossing a C-4 around the corner and getting your opponent without having to stick around for the kill!
I’ll have to go with Shock Charges as probably being the best choice in the game. The main reason besides actually doing a great job of disrupting your opponent? You can pick them up if you don’t end up using them!
I’m still on the fence when it comes to perks in the game are the best. After I do some more research … and some time passes by I’ll update this. Currently I like running Lightweight, Fast Hands, and Dexterity. But these are better designed for those who have a Rush play style.
If you want to hang back and pick out your targets then I would suggest using ones like Cold Blooded, and Blind Eye to help keep you hidden.
For me its important to be able to get the Scorestreaks and to use them quickly. I’ve been most successful using the UAV, Hellstorm Missile, and the Lightning Strike. If you can get them on a regular basis they are a killer combination.
I know just what you wanted to see. But this is by far my favorite setup in the game so far. Great for Close to Medium situations, and I get to rush which is what I love to do in Call of Duty 🙂
How to Level Up Quickly?
OK, so you have your setup and your ready to work on your Prestige! What is the best way to get there? Well from level 1-10 you play on Combat. You will have a more even playing field and if your lucky you’ll be playing against Bots as well.
After that? The highest scoring rounds or Score Per Minute is going to be with Kill Confirmed. But that can get a little old. I personally play a lot of Ground War now to mix it up with Domination, TDM, and Kill Confirmed.
